An Interview with Megan Hartig –Morrow Road Cast Member Megan Hartig is an up and coming actress from Port Huron Michigan. Megan was familiar with the Legend of Morrow Road growing up and told an Megan: I was in high school taking a Communications Arts class and Francis had cast a classmate in a small role in Morrow Road. I video-taped the interview as part of the crew for our school’s local TV station. After the interview my teacher introduced me to Francis and asked that he keep me in mind for the film. Francis had me audition on the spot. Megan: Francis took the script from the website and I did a cold read. And then he had me do some improv and video-taped the audition. Megan: It’s a Michigan legend, it’s very old. It was on Unsolved Mysteries. I knew nothing about the film when I auditioned for it. My friends would go out there and I never went out of fear. I’ve been close by, but never out there. I’m sure it will still be really creepy when we’re there shooting. I’m very excited though. Megan: She is the rudest character. She’s a total snob and very materialistic. It was a lot of fun to play. It’s a great project, the writing is amazing. I’m very proud to be part of this high quality project. Megan: The whole film will be shot in MI. Megan: I’ve only done extra work before this. In my Communications Arts class I was lead anchor and weather girl. I would also sing during holiday specials for school. Megan: My school is a performance conservatory. The program I am in is integrated with singing, acting and dancing. I will be graduating from the 2 year program in May. If I decide to get my BA, I will transfer to the LA campus. I’ve been in NY for about two years. Megan: Get training at a credible school because networking is the most important thing in this business. Through school you are hopefully going to get a lot of exposure, get good auditions and have proper representatives. The work is not just going to come to you. Also, working as an extra was great for me to get a feeling of how things flow, what expectations there are and how a professional set works. I was willing to overcome a fear in visiting Morrow Road in hopes of making my dreams a reality, and that’s what everyone in Michigan has to do right now. |
